Parody music has been about for hundreds of years, however many songs produced before the mid-seventeenth century, and during the twentieth century were made with a serious intent. Parody uses the lyrics or tune of a song, or tropes of a genre, to create a new, similar song. Most well-known parodies are burlesque, such as "When this lousy war is over" and Eat It
